Sociology of Family course redesigned using Articulate 360
Situation
Washington State University sought to modernize an asynchronous Sociology of Family course by converting existing lecture-based materials into an engaging, interactive online learning experience suitable for adult and undergraduate learners.
Task
I was responsible for redesigning the course in Articulate 360 by translating PowerPoint lectures, readings, and assessments into a cohesive, learner-centered digital course while preserving academic rigor and alignment with original learning objectives.
Action
Using Articulate Rise 360, I restructured course content into modular lessons with clear learning objectives, interactive knowledge checks, embedded media, and scaffolded activities to support comprehension and engagement. I applied instructional design best practices to chunk content, improve accessibility, and align assessments with learning outcomes, ensuring the course functioned effectively in an asynchronous environment.
